Our Staff at Lake Community Church

Marv Norlien, Intentional Interim Senior Pastor:  Marv is joining us as of June 1, 2017 to help us transition between permanent senior pastors. He has served in this role in six previous churches. Marv is a graduate of Bethel Seminary with a Master of Divinity degree. His hobbies include travel, reading, guitar, camping, biking, photography, gardening, running, and of course spending time with the grandkids.


Melody Warren, Care & Women's Ministries:    Melody's love for Jesus has given her a compassion for people who are hurting, spending her time in counseling sessions or teaching women God’s Word.  She loves it when God speaks to people, changes lives, and empowers them to make wise choices.  She and her husband Brad, have two adult daughters, Toni and Maggie, and three grandchildren.   Melody enjoys time at home, eating a good meal with her family and friends, and traveling.

Paul Peterson, Associate Pastor:  Paul joined the pastoral staff in February 2014 serving in the areas of student, children and family ministries.  He is passionate about teaching, helping people connect, and equipping people to make disciples.  Paul and his wife Amanda have four boys Eric, Eli, Micah, and Daniel.  In his spare time Paul enjoys golfing, building, boating, and cooking.


Michelle Saffel, Administrator:  Michelle is the brains of the outfit.  When not behind her desk as our office manager, she and her husband Tom enjoy boating, fishing and kayaking.  Other hobbies include cross-stitch, reading and gardening.



Leigha VanderTuin, Admin Support:  Leigha joined us in 2015 and has proven to be a great addition to our team.  Leigha has a passion for volleyball, books, baking and volunteers in the nursery and with student ministry.  She and her husband Brad have three children Kyle, Ashleigh, and Brett.  


Lisa Thompson, Custodian:  Lisa works hard each week after all the children and youth activities to get the building spic and span for Sunday morning worship service.  Lisa and her husband Bill have three children Katlyn, Kaylee, and Jonathan. In her spare time Lisa also home schools the kids.



Amanda Peterson, Worship Arts Director:  Amanda has a passion to see God glorified through the hearts of His people.  It is also her desire to see artists fully equipped, trained and released to bring their art to the feet of Jesus as an act of worship.  Amanda and her husband Paul have four active boys: Eric, Eli, Micah, and Daniel.  When she is not at church, homeschooling their oldest, or chasing their boys she enjoys "upcycling" furniture for their home, crafting of all sorts, reading, and drinking coffee with friends.


Dan Martin, Facility Manager Dan works hard tearing down and setting up all week long for the various activities that go on throughout the week.  Dan is one of the leaders in Rhema and has a heart to serve God in any situation.  Dan loves to cook and uses this skill by helping out in the kitchen when he can.  Other hobbies include video games, singing, and hanging out with friends.
