Have you put your faith in Jesus, but have not been baptized by water?
This is a special invitation to be baptized on Celebration Sunday, January 21.
Baptisms will happen during both services, at 9am and 10:30am.
Baptism is truly a celebration of what Christ has done and is continuing to do in your life. It’s a way to publicly express your faith in Jesus and your desire to live life fully for him. By being
immersed in the water you symbolically show your immersion into Christ and your desire for the Holy Spirit to saturate your life. As you go under the water you demonstrate your identification with Jesus’ death, your desire to die to sin and to be set free from it. When you come up out of the water you identify with the resurrection of Jesus and the new life you have in him. (See Romans 6:3-10)
Not only is baptism a public expression of your faith, it is also a day to help you remember your lifelong commitment as a follower of Jesus. Many of Jesus’ followers who were baptized as an infant have expressed their appreciation for being baptized again as one who now understands the significance of the occasion.
Your church family would love to share with you in this joyous expression of your faith in Jesus.
Also, please plan to attend one of the brief (10-15 minute) meetings after each worship service on Sunday, either January 7 or January 14.
